I would say 8 out of 10 times I use my computer I have to hard power off due to a crash. It has various manifestations - sudden black screen, screen frozen, screen responsive but mouse pointer has gone haywire and no abillity to reboot. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Boot into Bazzite 40 2. Use the computer 3. desktop graphics stops working OBSERVED RESULT sudden black screen, screen frozen, screen responsive but mouse pointer has gone haywire and no abillity to reboot. EXPECTED RESULT I can use the desktop without a random lockup SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Bazzite 40 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.9.12-205.fsync.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 20 × 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-13900H Memory: 31.0 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Graphics There is also an NVIDIA graphics card in the latop NVIDIA-SMI 560.35.03 Driver Version: 560.35.03 CUDA Version: 12.6 GeForce RTX 4070 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The second log file uploaded is from 5 minutes ago. The cursor started to go crazy on the screen (tails of cursor icons, flashing) and then Ptyxis errored out when trying to start. I went to restart. Pulled up the action menu, clicked on restart, and everything froze. Had to do a hard shutdown

It appears that the nvidia gpu is being used and the nvidia driver crashes. Can you report this issue to nvidia developers, there's not a lot that we can do about it?
…Specifically, by sending an email to linux-bugs@nvidia.com or making a post at https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/gpu-graphics/linux. It would be helpful to the NVIDIA developers if you could run nvidia-bug-report.sh and attach the resulting file in your report. Thanks!
