*** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** SUMMARY When using a dual monitor setup and configuring power management to NOT lock screens and NOT sleep and NOT to hibernate but simply turn the screens off and no more than that, kscreens2 will put the monitors to sleep and the wake them right back up, shutting off kscreen2 allowed the screens to be shutoff and stay off as would be expected. See discussion here: https://forums.opensuse.org/t/having-trouble-keeping-my-screens-off/178084/3 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Hardware is dual monitors and nvidia graphics card 2. setup Power Management apps and Screen Locking apps to ONLY turn off screens and set the timeout to 1 minute for convenience 3. Observe that after 1 minute both monitors are turned off , wait and within 20-30 seconds they will be re-awoken OBSERVED RESULT Monitors shut off but do not stay off EXPECTED RESULT The monitors should stay off until a key is pressed or the mouse is moved SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: openSuse Tumbleweed KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4 KDE Frameworks Version: This used to be in Help->About - it is no longer there Qt Version: 6.7.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am happy to provide any additional info on request and testing of any fix.

X11, dual NVIDIA GPUs. Does it happen in the Wayland session too, or only on X11?
This works as expected on Wayland. The monitors sleep and do not wake until i move the mouse or press a key I only did brief testing but this defect shows up quickly
Adding the x11-only keyword
