Disconnecting the dock removed the displays and that was left on them sometimes is reorganized but I have noticed a window left maximized will not move to the laptop screen. I don't know if it due to the larger screen size or the fact that the window is maximized. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. have different sized screens 2. maximize a window on a larger screen 3. disconnect the larger screen 4. when you click the icon for the window (I used firefox) it slides back to the left where the screen was in the layout and I cannot bring it back I don't know if its relevant but I have a type c dock.
