Created attachment 172920 [details] Alert window that pops up in place of G'MIC-Qt. *** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** SUMMARY: G'MIC Qt will not start STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. go to filters & select "Start G'MIC-Qt" 2. -NA- 3. -NA- OBSERVED RESULT A window pops up with the message "The GMic plugin is not installed or could not be loaded." This happens every time I attempt to load the Krita app, even after a fresh re-start. The previous version of Krita 5.2.2's G'MIC-Qt works fine. EXPECTED RESULT I expected the G'MIC-Qt menu to load SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Ventura 13.6.9 (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -Krita 5.2.3 takes much longer to load than 5.2.2 -Krita 5.2.2 has no trouble loading G'MIC-Qt.
I cannot confirm either issue; With 5.2.3 I can open g'mic, and krita starts just as quickly as 5.2.2 for me on my macbook pro m1 with Sonoma.

Thanks for the information. I checked on my old (2015) macbook pro and I could reproduce the issue. I guess we don't make fat binaries for this plugin anymore after switching how we automate release builds. Ivan, can you take a look?
I noticed the issue with ARM-only G'MIC myself the other day, but it seems to have been fixed in the Nightly builds, could you confirm that?
I can confirm we are not building Fat binaries for plugins since the deps upgrade. The fix should be available on next release
