Reproduction screencast.

SUMMARY
-------
Unable to modify display brightness, until rebooted.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
------------------
Attempt to modify the brightness via the relevant `plasmashell` plasmoid.

OBSERVED RESULT

I wasn't able to apply a new brightness value - it reverted each time I attempted to apply it - and the current brightness was incorrectly reported as 0.

EXPECTED RESULT
---------------
I should have been able to modify the brightness.

I'm going to set this as WORKSFORME because since I rebooted, it hasn't recurred, and thus I can't think of any useful diagnostics I can provide.
