SUMMARY After a routine system update (sudo apt update; sudo apt upgrade), my kate snap no longer launches the gui. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start kate from the launcher or terminal. 2. Nothing happens. 3. OBSERVED RESULT No GUI interface is presented. No windows open. Launching kate from the terminal produces not GUI either nor any error message. System monitor shows that kate is running as expected. I can run kate on CLI to show help or version. I can use the CLI (and launcher) to start other kate sessions, none of which will produce any GUI. Tested with swaywm and with gnome wayland. **I now cannot used either the candidate nor stable branch of kate.** EXPECTED RESULT Some GUI should launch.
