Created attachment 172573 [details] Backtrace SUMMARY egl-wayland 1.1.15-1 causes plasmashell to crash if the "Web Browser" Plasma widget is used. Reverting back to 1.1.13 fixes the issue. I am using the 560.31.02-1 nvidia-beta-dkms drivers from the Arch AUR, not sure if that's relevant to this bug though. Stack trace is attached STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install egl-wayland 1.1.15 2. Reboot 3. Login and add the "Web Browser" plasma widget onto your desktop OBSERVED RESULT Plasmashell crashes immediately after attempting to add the "Web Browser" widget. EXPECTED RESULT Plasmashell should not crash SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.4.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.10.4-arch2-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 24 × AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090/PCIe/SSE2 Product Name: X570 Taichi
egl-wayland is NVIDIA's code, not KDE's code. If upgrading to a newer version of it broke the Web Browser widget, that's NVIDIA's bug, not ours. :) Please report this issue to the NVIDIA folks, either by sending an email to linux-bugs@nvidia.com or making a post at https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/gpu-graphics/linux. It would be helpful to the NVIDIA developers if you could run nvidia-bug-report.sh and attach the resulting file in your report. Thanks!
Thanks Nate! I have already filed bugs with upstream egl-wayland as well. I am leaving the link here for posterity: https://github.com/NVIDIA/egl-wayland/issues/129 Honestly, I didn't really know exactly who was at fault here so I just kinda shotgun approached it.
