option to Change alternating from grey/ white ugly color ability remove columns not needed Example. No. Column cant be removed even though In Ledger settings "Show No. column is unchecked". All versions has no affect
The bug entry is a bit ambiguous: the title is "New ledger" but the version talks about 5.1.3. The new ledger code is currently only available in git master. In 5.1.3 the option to suppress the display of the number column is called "Always show a No. field". For certain account types the number column is not shown by default (e.g. Cash). This option allows it to display it nevertheless. The option has been removed in git master. In git master, certain columns can be hidden for all accounts. The number column is among them. The colors in the git master version are controlled by the selected KDE color setting. Does this provide enough information so that we can close the entry? Otherwise, please provide more details to what you are looking for and change it to a wish list item.

(Thomas - the bug subject is just "ledger." I think the "New:" referred to it being a new bug.) First, if you reply to a bug by email, please delete everything first and only send your new comment. Your entire email becomes the next entry in the bug listing, and quoting the previous entry in your email makes it much harder to read. Next, the program is developed in git. 5.1.3 is released from the 5.1 branch and there is a development version released from master branch. Git is just the program used to manage the source code, and it allows different versions to be worked on at the same time. What Thomas is asking is which exact version are you using - from Help/About KMyMoney. This is important, as the ledger has been mostly rewritten in master branch (which will eventually be released as version 5.2.) You can look at https://kmymoney.org/windows.html and try the development version to see if some or all of your problems have been resolved. Do make a backup of your data file first, although some people have actually been using this version on a regular basis.
Created attachment 172601 [details] Ledger.JPG Downloaded the developer version kmymoney-master-3404-windows-cl-msvc2019-x86_64.exe which turns out to be 5.1.8. This is the windows version This took care of the problem. I really like the new interface. Being able to select which columns to show and easily show again if needed Thanks so much. This is much better However in Kmymoney settings Have ledger group separator set to dark red and Imported transactions set to cyan Most transactions on 8/1/24 are imported and not showing Cyan unchecking custom colors have no affect, so it appears custom colors None are working See attached Ledger.jpg and Color setting jpg On Tue, Aug 13, 2024 at 10:23 AM Jack <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=491649 > > --- Comment #3 from Jack <ostroffjh@users.sourceforge.net> --- > (Thomas - the bug subject is just "ledger." PLEASE - if you reply by email, trim what you are replying to - it really clutters up the bug and makes it hard to read. Please recheck the version number. There is no 5.1.8, it is probably 5.1.80 plus a string related to the exact git commit used for that particular version. When you first check Use Custom Colors, I believe it starts with the default colors. Have you tried changing any of the colors when you do check Use Custom Colors?
Created attachment 172604 [details] attachment-246533-0.html Yes have tried various combinations. None seem to work. This all worked in 5.1.3 This master is 5.1.80 On Tue, Aug 13, 2024 at 7:48 PM Jack <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=491649 > > --- Comment #6 from Jack <ostroffjh@users.sourceforge.net> --- > PLEASE - if you reply by email, trim what you are replying to - it really > clutters up the bug and makes it hard to read. > Please recheck the version number. Installed Git master. That took care of columns problem by being able to hide Number column. But what happened to Ledger filter. It seems to have been removed. And custom colors no longer works, even though I checked custom colrs and tried several combinations. Just shows default colors
> But what happened to Ledger filter. It seems to have been removed. No, not really. Press Ctrl+F to get access to it. > And custom colors no longer works, even though I checked custom colrs and tried several combinations. Just shows default colors Known issue. You mentioned that already.
Created attachment 172645 [details] attachment-596929-0.html Sorry should have been clearer Was referring to Filter search at top of Ledger and status box which filters by: Any status Imported Scheduled Reconciled etc Guess I'll stick with 5.1.3 Has fewer problems All I wanted to do was hide No. Column and can't do that Thanks anyway On Thu, Aug 15, 2024, 12:33 AM Thomas Baumgart <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=491649 > > --- Comment #9 from Thomas Baumgart <tbaumgart@kde.org> --- > > But what happened to Ledger filter. Git commit d5e4277a155770e17545cad7be4439e771e7be75 by Thomas Baumgart. Committed on 16/08/2024 at 16:08. Pushed by tbaumgart into branch 'master'. Fix custom color settings Usage of custom colors was not implemented. This change brings back the custom color settings. To improve them, for all background colors an accompanying text color is now available to be able to adjust readability. Just to clarify, the search box (including the status filter) was at the top in 5.1.3, but is now displayed at the bottom of the ledger in master branch/development version after you hit Ctl-F. This means both the custom color issue and control over columns in the ledger will be fixed in 5.2, and the search/status filter is present in both 5.1.3 and master branch, although you need to hit Ctl-F to see it in master.

Created attachment 172710 [details] attachment-1096490-0.html Messing around with toolbar settings Toolbar shortcuts. Ctrl-F not set up for anything. Was using Find transaction. Why not getting same results you specified. Found shortcut "Show filter widget". That is what I was looking for. Problem solved. Just will wait for 5.2 for color settings to work.
