There is a shortcut named `F9` that shows/hides places panel on Dolphin. However, there is no shortcut that would hover on this panel or shift the focus there. I believe it's a missing feature. I have already shed some light on this on the KDE discussion page; you can visit this link: https://discuss.kde.org/t/shortcut-for-focusing-on-places-on-dolphin/19693/2 I was asked by someone there to submit a bug for it. That's why I am reporting this feature request as a bug.
Moving to wishlist priority as this is a feature request.
This actually appears to have been implemented or already existed. I just checked keyboard shortcuts for Dolphin 24.12.1 and Ctrl + P focusses the Places panel. Can you please re-check and confirm if this available for you? If it is, please change the status to RESOLVED/WORKSFORME. If not, please change the status back to REPORTED.
