power management settings

SUMMARY
In the "Power Management" section of the System Settings app, sometimes I have options for "Display and Brightness", even though they don't work for me because I'm on a PC and not a notebook/laptop.

They are "Change screen brightness" and "Dim automatically".

They do not always show. It's random after every reboot if they are visible or not.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to "Power Management" section in System Settings app.
2. See unusable settings.

OBSERVED RESULT
Unusable settings sometimes are visible.

EXPECTED RESULT
Unusable settings should always be hidden.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora Linux 40
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.4.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2

Are you sure the settings don't work?

This is likely https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482713

Yes, I'm sure they don't work. Only thing that works is turn off screen automatically.

Also, I have experiencied a crash when the screens turns off and then I turn it on again by moving the mouse. KDE Powerdevil crashed itself with the settings menu open. I'll create a separate issue for that.

PC desktop monitors expose brightness via the DDC protocol, and Powerdevil knows how to control it. So it's definitely expected that the brightness slider appears there!

If it doesn't work, that's another issue, perhaps bug 489320, bug 482713, bug 489169, or something else. If it's not one of those, please open a new bug report about it. Thanks!
