Description neobrain 2024-07-28 15:47:54 UTC
SUMMARY
System Monitor seems to always consume an entire CPU core for me, even when the entire machine is sitting idle. This is a regression introduced in Plasma 6.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open System Monitor's Processes page
2. Order by CPU load
3. Look at the topmost entry

OBSERVED RESULT
System Monitor itself causes the highest CPU load (generally a full CPU core?) and is the topmost entry when no other heavy tasks are running.

EXPECTED RESULT
System Monitor shouldn't trigger significant CPU load, comparable Plasma 5's System Monitor.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: openSUSE Tumbleweed 6.1.3
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.4.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Running Wayland

This is possibly https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434877

I cannot reproduce on 6.1.80, it uses less than 1% for me.
