Description mlh.kiwi 2024-07-27 23:56:22 UTC
You can set the slideshow delay ("specify time delay for slideshow") between images all the way up to 3600 seconds, so one whole hour, yet I could not set this time delay to a half second (0.5) or a quarter second (0.25).
Comment 1 Maik Qualmann 2024-07-28 06:34:22 UTC
Seriously, why do you need a 0.25 second delay in a slideshow?
Wouldn't it be better to create a video slideshow with digiKam?

"create a video slideshow with digiKam" - I don't want to create just
view, I sometimes use the slideshow to view my images but one second can be
slow, I mean 0.5 would be double speed (I think 0.25 would be to fast).

0.25 or 0.5 seconds of Slideshow delay is a non sence for me...
Comment 4 caulier.gilles 2024-07-29 07:49:34 UTC
Hi,

I agree with Maik, less than 1 second delay in Slideshow is a non sence.

Uses the Video Slideshow tool from digiKam to generate the right number of frames by second. All is well settable in this tool.

https://docs.digikam.org/en/post_processing/video_slideshow.html

Q : did you want a delay largest that 3600 s in the Slideshow tool ?

Best

Surely this would be an easy thing to change?

Comment 8 Maik Qualmann 2024-11-07 07:09:04 UTC
Sorry, 0.5 seconds is not enough to load some modern image formats, even with a second and fast computers there has to be a delay. And pre-loading doesn't help if there isn't enough time.
You would have to pre-load all images in the size of the screen and uncompressed as a temporary storage and then always load them quickly.

Simply setting the time parameter and reducing the minimum is not enough here.
