Generating Proxies from latest build: kdenlive-master-8511-windows-gcc-x86_64.exe 2024-07-22 08:10 109M As said in Summary, Proxies in software hang (Not Responding). A check in the Proxies folder show clips have generated. Have to abort software and start it again. I open the file and asked to recover them. I agree and files load without the P flag. However when selected as a batch, right clicked and tick Proxy. The P is shown. I have noticed this on the latest stable version 24.05.2 and nightly builds before and since. I can load the project file with placeholders. Delete all proxies for this project and try again. To reach the proxy folders: "Windows+R" then copy this path into the window: %LocalAppData%\kdenlive\cache.

I tried this (even added a shortcut to the cache folder for the future), but it made no difference. Attached is a PNG file showing the files complete in the (project) proxy folder and Kdenlive jobs still running (Windows Not Responding)

That should not happen. Are this MP4 video clips from a mobile phone? If yes, please do first a right click on each clip and choose “convert to an edit friendly format”. After that create the proxies. It could be that the proxies converting hangs because of the variable frame rate from mobile phone video clips.
