Description iodreamify 2024-07-23 01:09:16 UTC
SUMMARY
The Meta key stops working if i execute `plasmashell --replace`

The application launcher won't open and none of Meta+1 shortcuts do anything on the taskbar.

If i use `kquitapp6 plasmashell && kstart plasmashell` however meta key works as usual

Sorry if this is not a bug but i couldn't find anywhere stating that this is intentional.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. run `plasmashell --replace` from terminal

OBSERVED RESULT
Meta key stops working

EXPECTED RESULT
Meta key works or documentation clears this up

KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.4.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2
Kernel Version: 6.9.10-arch1-1 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

Thanks for the bug report! Another report on the same issue was filed later, but in a more appropriate place and is already marked as confirmed, so I'm marking this one as a duplicate of that for simplicity. Please follow that report for updates on a fix.

For a comment on that report, Meta is supposed to still work if `systemctl restart --user plasma-plasmashell.service` is used instead of `plasmashell --replace`, which may be a workaround until the issue is fixed.
