SUMMARY
Back Arrow/Command after following a pdf Link

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

2. Okular jumps to the coresponding page
3. There is no easy way to return back to the previous page/position

OBSERVED RESULT
User will have to scroll manually to the initial page.

EXPECTED RESULT
Implement in the page navigator another arrow to jump "Back" at the initial page:
Navigator: "Previous Page", "Page number", "Next oage", "Back Arrow"
- the "Back Arrow" would get activated if the user followed a link in the pdf document;

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Leonard Mada 2024-08-03 23:21:05 UTC
Some example pdf's with references that can be clicked are attached to the following bug reports:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=490513
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=491221

Open anyone of the pdf's and click on one of the references (numeric in one pdf and year in the other one). After reading the reference details, the user usually wants to return back to the page where he left from.

Just do Go->Back?

Indeed, the functionality is available in the Menu: Go/Back.

I somehow missed this functionality. Maybe because you still need to scroll a little bit (the link is not perfect in some articles).

Although, the requested functionality is still usefull:
- as a "Back" arrow/button on the navigation toolbar (as the title sugests);
- this "Back" button should store the last position before clicking a link (a reference-link, but may be useful for other links as well);

You can add back to the toolbar if you want, use the toolbar editing dialog for that.
