Created attachment 171789 [details] Screenshot after having disconnected from the VPN. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect to your network + a VPN 2. Expand the VPN item 3. Disconnect the VPN OBSERVED RESULT The network below the VPN gets expanded (by itself!) and the configure button overlays its details. Please see the screenshot. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 40 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.9.8-200.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland
Thanks for the bug report. It looks like this has been fixed in a newer version of Plasma. I was unable to reproduce the visual problem with Plasma 6.1.3 (X11) or git-master (Wayland). After following the steps to reproduce, there was no overlapping text and the UI appeared as I'd expect. The fix will reach your system when your distro updates Plasma. Please feel free to re-open this report if you experience the same problem with Plasma 6.1.3.
Thanks for trying to reproduce it, unfortunately after updating to 6.1.3 + Frameworks 6.4.0 I am still able to reproduce it. To make sure that a caching issue doesn't influence the result, I have had deleted ~./cache/plasma* before rebooting. Can you please try to reproduce it when your list of networks in the applet looks as follows: 1) any connected Network 2) VPN expanded 3) any known network 4) VPNs 5) other unknown networks I believe 3) plays a crucial role
2) VPN connected and expanded (of course, otherwise it would not appear above the known network in 3)
I'm sorry to hear that this is still a problem on your system. I tested again with the additional detail and I *am* able to reproduce the overlay on 6.1.3 as well as git-master The network below VPN expanding by itself also happens on my system. It appears to be intended behavior. The configure button overlapping other text is obviously not intended. After testing, the reproducible condition to trigger the bug is: 1) any connected Network 2) VPN expanded 3) any known network Details: On my main system, I tested with the following in the network list of the tray icon and reproduced the bug - Wired (connected) - WiFi (known, disconnected) - VPN (known, disconnected) - Other seen WiFi networks (never connected) On another laptop with git-master, with only 3 entries, I do not see the overlay. In this instance, there is no known, currently disconnected network that is auto-expanded. - WiFi (connected) - VPN (known, disconnected) - Other seen WiFi networks (never connected) On that same laptop I then tested with the following and I *was* also able to reproduce the bug here - WiFi (connected) - VPN (known, disconnected) - Phone Hotspot (never connected) - Other seen WiFi networks (never connected)
