OBSERVED RESULT

After a short time of working with Konsole, this problem occurs and it doesn't fix even by clearing the Konsole settings.

When typing, the cursor overtakes the letters.

Even Space is represented by several characters.

Hi - this appears to be related to trying to use a proportional, rather than monospaced, font in Konsole, so I'm merging this in with the related issue that's been filed previously. Thanks!
