SUMMARY Within an XWayland application, if I use `Ctrl + C` or some menu command for "copy text", I can paste that only within XWayland. Wayland applications never see that copied value. There I can only ever paste what I copied from a Wayland application. Conversely, I can always copy in a Wayland application and paste to any XWayland application. Applications copied from: - Steam - Discord - Obisidan - 010Editor - IDA Applications I expected to paste to/see the value: - Klipper - `qdbus6 org.kde.KWin /KWin org.kde.KWin.showDebugConsole` - Firefox - Wezterm STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open an XWayland application 2. Copy some text 3. Focus a Wayland application and paste OBSERVED RESULT Cannot copy from XWayland to Wayland EXPECTED RESULT Copy and paste should work from any application to any application. Might be related to bug 490577 although the direction there fails the other way
It miiiight be related. Since that fix is going to be available in 6.2, can you please test whether the issue is still reproduce there when 6.2 is released? If it is, can you provide more details? The distro, does it happen randomly, or does it happen consistently, what actions are more likely to trigger the issue, etc
