Settings > Configure Okular… 3. Press Meta+W for Overview 4. click close button on the okular main window OBSERVED RESULT There is no reaction to the click EXPECTED RESULT there is an indication for the user that the dependent windows have to be closed first. Somehow Gnome shell is doing this, and I don't see how. They send a close event to the relevant window, so do we. Yet they behave differently for the same app. It needs research, but it shows something can be done.
Qt has changed and I was testing an older version. Gnome behaves like KDE does, it just no-ops when a modal dialog is open. We can fix Qt, but we can't do too much for the general case.
