STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have one or more panels, this is certainly reproducible with the default panel; 2. Open a fullscreen window; 3. Open the overview; 4. Close the overview or click on a fullscreen window in the overview; 5. Observe. OBSERVED RESULT Panels have a nice animation (although blur abruptly appears and disappears, see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478083) that makes them fade out when opening the overview and fade in when exiting the overview. However, if the window that the overview is exited to is fullscreen, the panels will nicely fade in, but the moment the animation is finished they will abruptly disappear without any animation. EXPECTED RESULT Either panels also have a fade out animation similar to the one visible when opening the overview or, preferably, the panel shouldn't even start fading in if a window is fullscreen, as it will be invisible when the overview effect has been closed anyway. This would avoid the abrupt and jarring visual.
