Created attachment 171263 [details] The error on rpgmaker2003, yume nikki is a lot less interesting looking, just a black screen SUMMARY: I installed the rpgmaker2003 game engine and Yume Nikki (free game, tried both with the Steam release and the portable version at ubochan) and i found that the game and game engine appear as full (yume nikki's case) or partial black screens (rpg's case, the wine gui showed up fine, but not some custom content). I tested both on X11 and Wayland. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install Yume Nikki (free, you can get the best version here, look at the left bar in the website) https://uboachan.net/ OR rpgmaker2003 (paid product, versions on the internet archive) 2. Run Yume Nikki or rpg with Wine/Proton (tested with lots of Proton versions and Bottles' Soda 8 and 9 Wine versions) 3. Black screen EXPECTED RESULT That the game and editor display the image correctly. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.9.7-zen1-1-zen (tested with 6.1 lts too), KDE 6.1.1 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Yume Nikki is a well tested and old game. I ran the game and engine on Xfce with the same setup and it worked flawlessly. Maybe there is a chance this is a wine bug. See ProtonDB page for more info. I did notice while writing this that one other person had this same problem, but they didn't report their desktop environment, but due to my Xfce experience im thinking this is a KDE only. https://www.protondb.com/app/650700
After more testing, i found the bug to be present in other desktops like Budgie or the COSMIC pre-alpha. I think the problem is located in Mesa, but due to my lack of knowledge about it and the Gitlab restrictions i can't report a bug for them to figure it out.

Nevermind, after checking Mesa's release dates and the Arch packages, Mesa is not the problem. Now that we know the problem is not a KDE one, im closing this, ty for everything.
