Description florian 2002-10-10 12:18:47 UTC
Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

It would be a great usability improvement if the max width
of the tabs for tabbed browsing would be smaller or even better: configurable.

At the moment it is hardly possible to open more than four tabs
(with a reasonable windows size) without having to use the scroll-
buttons. Opera e.g. displays 7.5 buttons on the same overall width.

Also a configurable min-width would be useful. Setting min=max
would result in a fixed tab-button-width, which would improve
usability too because the user can make use of his "knowledge of
localization".

Cheers,
Florian

grr, why do you close the first bug if you reported it twice?

This request is related to Bug 48393 where dynamic tab resizing is requested...
Comment 4 Stephan Binner 2003-05-30 17:32:49 UTC
Dynamic tab resizing is now implemented in HEAD (ranging from 30 to 5
characters). Does anyone still see a need for such an option?
Comment 5 Stephan Binner 2003-06-05 09:03:26 UTC
No answer. Dynamic tab resizing works fine. No need for another option.
