ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am using the flat pack version on latest Linux mint version .. Video  plays in the clip monitor, but not in project monitor for me to edit.

Is this still the case for v25.12.1 ?

Logically this should be obsolete as it would of been addressed already.  
Therefore, closing.
