ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Happened while I was writing this thread on Discuss KDE: https://discuss.kde.org/t/some-ui-elements-on-the-desktop-are-too-big-in-low-resolution-screen-1366x768/17856

Normally I use the panel on the left. To better illustrate the exemple there I changed the position to the bottom to take a screenshot, when I tried to change the position again to the left it happened. Now I'm stuck with the panel on the bottom.

Restarted the system and tried on both X11 and Wayland.

If you change the panel's alignment to something other than centered, does the issue go away? If so, this should have been fixed by Bug 488174.

Tried changing all parameters and move the panel to all positions to see
what would happen. No combination worked.
But then I tried a few more things, tried removing widgets from the panel
one by one. When I removed Catwalk it worked, so that was the problem?

For me it's "fixed", the but seems to be on Catwalk.

Yep, that's it. See my comment on https://store.kde.org/p/2137844. :(

I rewrote the widget to fix this and passed it on to the author, but it looks like it hasn't been updated with those changes yet.
