Created attachment 170954 [details] video of visual bug SUMMARY Whenever I drag/move windows over each other on my two monitors, programs that are not focused get weird artifacts where parts of the window are really zoomed in. Once those programs are active again, the artifacts leave immediately. I have attached a video. This is on wayland with proprietary nvidia drivers on Arch. Did not happen when I was previously using plasma 5 on debian (also wayland and nvidia), so I don't think it is a nvidia problem but a plasma problem. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. install plasma 6.1 and nvidia drivers on Arch 2. set the right settings to enable wayland on plasma 3. log in to plasma wayland move a bunch of windows over each other OBSERVED RESULT background windows get weird visual artifacts EXPECTED RESULT background windows look normal SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Arch linux Kernel Version: 6.9.6-arch1-1 KDE Plasma Version: 6.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Graphics Platform: Wayland
Graphical tearing; most likely an NVIDIA driver regression. I'll let the KWin developers say for sure.
I am getting similar artifacting on 6.1.1 on my amd gpu. Here's my info: Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.9.6-zen1-1-zen (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 580 Series Manufacturer: MSI Product Name: MS-7817 System Version: 3.0
As of plasma 6.2.1 I am no longer experiencing this bug
Great news! Thanks for following up.
