Description shiclus64 2024-06-24 17:12:43 UTC
SUMMARY
Scrolling taskbar (icons only) to switch apps not working as intended when scrolling speed is not default (5).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open system settings.
2. Choose "Mouse".
3. Lower scrolling speed. Default is 5, lower to 2 for example.
4. Open taskbar (only icons) settings.
5. Choose behaviour.
6. Mark the checkbox of mouse wheel "cycles through tasks"
7. Open any 5 applications so that their icons will appear on the taskbar. Do not minimize them.
8. Scroll on empty space of the taskbar, it takes a lot of scrolling to switch apps.

OBSERVED RESULT
It takes a lot of effort to scroll the taskbar to switch apps. Scrolls are "skipped".

EXPECTED RESULT
It should take exactly 1 scroll to switch apps.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Archlinux, KDE Plasma 6, Wayland.
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0
Qt Version: 6.7.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
After reproducing this bug reset the scrolling speed (step 3) to its default value - 5.
Now exactly 1 scroll switches apps as intended.

just to be sure, this is done with an actual mouse with the classic stepped scroll wheel?
Comment 2 shiclus64 2024-06-25 12:08:58 UTC
Yes, this is standard USB mouse with stepped scroll wheel.
