Description Rich 2002-10-09 07:49:30 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.0.3)
Installed from:    Compiled From Sources
Compiler:          gcc 2.95.3
OS:          LinuxLinux

When trying to print with cups anything that is using the kdeprint compents fail when not root. For instance kcontrol will simply stop responding when you try to click on a printer that is configured using cups when not root. When root this does not happen and everything seems to work fine but i still get these error messages:
kdecore (KLibLoader): WARNING: KLibrary: /usr/local/kde/lib/libkdecore.so.4: undefined symbol: init_kcm_printmgr
kdecore (KLibLoader): WARNING: KLibrary: The library kcm_printmgr does not offer an init_kcm_printmgr function
kcontrol: Unable to load module using ComponentFactory! Falling back to old loader.
kcontrol: KCModule
ASSERT: "!name.isEmpty()" in kinstance.cpp (55)

And in root I'm not able to print anything other than a test page.
I know kdelibs-3.0.3 compile fine with cups and I know cups-1.1.15 compiles fine wtih shared libraries.
