SUMMARY

The desktop (panels + desktop interactions) freezes when exiting the new edit mode.
Pressing Alt+Tab unfreezes it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right click on your desktop
2. Click on "Enter Edit mode"
3. Right click on your desktop
4. Click on "Exit Edit mode"
You can also just press Esc when being in the edit mode, the same will happen.
- Your desktop should now be frozen, try left-click dragging on your desktop, nothing should happen -
5. Alt+Tab
- Your desktop should now be usable again -

OBSERVED RESULT

The desktop freezes, with all clicks on the desktop and on panels being ignored. Alt+Tab still works.

EXPECTED RESULT

The desktop doesn't freeze.

Cannot reproduce with those steps and git master. It appears to be fixed with at least Plasma 6.2.0, and possible 6.1.1 with some of the backported edit mode bugfixes recently.
