SUMMARY

I still use the Timer widget on my KDE Plasma toolbars. However, it appears this widget looks outdated; also it is separate from the Clock app. It is also awkward to add and change the various timers in this widget. I am suggesting that the Timer widget be deprecated in favor of implementing widgets for KDE's clock app.

Additionally, when you hide the remaining time when the widget is on the panels, the widget still only displays a massively zoomed in progress bar rather than the time remaining in hours, minutes, and seconds.

The widget also exhibits weird behaviors when you adjust the size. Once the size is adjusted, the appearance of the widget switches to its "older" appearance.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add the Timer widget to the desktop
2. Resize timer widget to see it change appearance
3. Move timer widget and hide all displays except for the progress bar

OBSERVED RESULT
The timer widget, on the desktop, switches to older version with "rolling" display
The timer widget, on the panel, with all but the progress bar hidden, still just displays a lengthened progress bar when clicked on.

EXPECTED RESULT
Consistent look and feel across the widget.
Appears to look as modern as 6.1.0, which I immediately downloaded.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Any (I use Arch)
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.0 (Also applies for 6 and 5)
KDE Frameworks Version: Any (I use 6.9.5-arch1-1)
Qt Version: 6.7.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am satisfied with the previous changes I've suggested. The pie graph on the Clock app gets misaligned when the window is resized, especially when the left bar is visible.

"Replace this thing with that other thing" is generally not an actionable bug report, sorry. Please do feel free to open new bug reports about specific actionable bugs or design issues with the widget.

Thank you for adjusting the feedback. The inconsistent appearancce, and especially the sudden change in appearance of the Timer widget should indeed be a bug. I however, have listed other suggestions.

See https://discuss.kde.org/t/the-timer-widget-looks-too-outdated/17327.
