SUMMARY In Fedora 39/Plasma5 when all notifications had been read, the notification window from the panel automatically closed. Upgrading to Fedora 40/Plasma6 the notification window remains present and shows 'No unread notifications'. clicking on some other window (konsole, firefox etc) then causes the notification window to disappear. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run 'konsole', then I configured konsole (from the 'Settings' tab at the top of the konsole window) to show popup notifications for 'Bell in Focused Session'. 2. Use keyboard down-arrow key to go to bottom of konsole, and repeat a couple of times to get multiple popups. 3. On panel the Notifications icon should have appeared (indicating there are unread notifications. Close each notification using the 'Close' icon. After the last one is closed the Notification window remains saying 'No unread notifications' until the mouse is clicked elsewhere. OBSERVED RESULT See summary above. EXPECTED RESULT The notification window should automatically disappear as it did under Plasma 5. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 40 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0 Qt Version: 6.7.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Looks like similar to closed bug report for Plasma 5 #435194
Thanks for the bug report! I was able to reproduce this with KDE Plasma 6.0.5. It looks like this was fixed in Plasma 6.1. I confirmed the notification window auto closes after closing the last notification. (I confirmed this with KDE Neon). This bug should be fixed on your system when Fedora updates KDE Plasma to 6.1. Please re-test when your system receives 6.1 and let us know.
Fedora 40 now has Plasma 6.1 packages available. Running an update, and reboot, the notifications window now closes when there are no unread notifications left. This bug report can be closed. Thanks for your help.
Closing as the issue was resolved. Thanks for letting us know.
