oops forgot to fill in the following SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: N/A macOS: N/A Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Neon 6.0 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Wayland Laptop Surface pro 7
To clarify for step 3 - I mean to click the "Battery caution" sound preview under the freedesktop sounds option.
The sound you hear is the power-plug and power-unplug sounds. battery-caution is a different sound that freedesktop does not provide. See https://people.freedesktop.org/~mccann/dist/ for the actual upstream package.
Ahh I see, thank you for letting me know. I guess I wasted my time writing this report then :(
