Description kong 2024-06-15 17:51:23 UTC
SUMMARY

Hi, I think ALT + F should not be used for search function.
ALT + F should mean moving the cursor forward a string, CTRL+SHIFT+F should be the search function
Now CTRL+SHIFT+F and ALT + F are both search functions.

https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/shortcuts-command-line-navigation#:~:text=Alt%2BF%20moves%20one%20word,B%20moves%20one%20word%20back.

Alt+F moves one word forward, and Alt+B moves one word back.

Fwiw Alt+F is not explicitly assigned to search in konsole. It opens search because Alt allows access to window menu bars / tool bars, which contains Find (F), and File (also F).

A workaround is to disable the window menu bar, and the session tool bar.

Given that using Alt to access menu bars and tool bars is pretty standard nowadays, I am marking this as intentional.
