POSSIBLE REVERSION of Bug ID# 445106 SUMMARY Platform: KDEneon User Edition, fully updated, Plasma 6 and Wayland. Since the switch to Plasma 6 and Wayland, Yakuake will switch to "Screen 2" after the screens go to power save mode in Quick Options if previously set to Screen 1. Setting it to "At mouse location" is retained after screen power save. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. In Yakuake "Quick Options" menu, select "Screen 1" 2. Wait for screens to switch off (15 minutes here) 3. "Wake up" screens with mouse or keyboard OBSERVED RESULT Yakuake opens on Screen 2 and "Quick Options" menu shows "Screen 2" selected. EXPECTED RESULT Yakuake opens on Screen 1 and in the "Quick Options" menu "Screen 1" remains selected. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDEneon 6.0 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Kernel 6.5.0-35-generic
This morning I opened ~/.config/yakuake and observed "Screen=1" as I had set it. Then I changed it to "Screen=2" in yakuake and reloaded the config file and observed it had changed as expected. I changed to back to Screen 1 and verify it opened as expected. I then let power save mode blank the screens. After waking them up with a mouse move, I observed Yakuake open on Screen 2 just as I reported in the bug report. I reopened ~/.config/yakuake and observed the config file still showed "Screen=1" even though the window opened on screen 2.
Additionally, I have now observed the Yakuake window remains on Screen 2 regardless of screen selection in the menu. Only by selecting "At mouse location" will the window return to Screen 1 by following the mouse.
I have the same issue since upgrading to Plasma 6.2. I have a triple display setup, with yakuake configured to use the right-most screen. After every restart it seems yakuake just chooses a random screen, and the ID of the right-most screen is also varying (e.g. I can't tell if the right-most screen will be on ID 1, 2 or 3, it's just trial and error).
