SUMMARY Audex has only worked once for me since installing KDE Gear 24.05.0. My second two attempts resulted in the app freezing and becoming unresponsive so I had to force quit. Just today I tried to rip and encode a cd to mp3 and both attempts resulted in me getting a message that said "Ripping speed was extremely slow for the last 5 minutes. Do you want to continue extraction?" The last attempt showed zero progress for eleven minutes before I got this message. Also the toolbar items are unclickable when the progress window is open.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch audex
2. Click rip to start the ripping progress
3.

OBSERVED RESULT No progress during extraction attempt.

EXPECTED RESULT Tracks ripped and encoded at a reasonable speed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I recently updated to Plasma 6.2 and tried to rip some mp3s from an audio cd. When I chose the rip option, the title bar said "Audex(not responding). No ripping took place, even after 10 minutes or more.

I also got a "not responding" message when I tried to close the app.

Should be fixed with commit 78e6479ffa47a0850c7afac02f8825b33f543f3d

Has this commit made it to the TW repos yet? I tried ripping a cd today and I had the same problems I listed above and no ripping took place.

After I selected rip I got the not responding message but about a minute later I got the ripping progress window. There was never any progress.

Sorry, those changes are part of KDE Gear 25.07 and will be shipped with the next major release.

I installed the 25.08.1 update and Audex appears to be working fine. Still
slower than K3B but at least it works.
