Description kritomas 2024-06-08 18:32:32 UTC
SUMMARY

Just like we can set a custom time format in the Digital Clock applet, it would be nice if we could set one that affects the desktop globally (lock screen, SDDM login screen, Dolphin...) instead of having to select from a list of preconfigured ones.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open system settings.
2. Go to Region & Language in Regional Settings.
3. Modify Time.

OBSERVED RESULT

There is a massive list of preconfigured formats, but no option to set a custom format.

EXPECTED RESULT

There should be an option to set a custom format.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian Trixie
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.11
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.13

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
So far I am using a systemd script to modify Breeze theme's Clock.qml to set my format on system startup. This works for the SDDM login screen and lock screen, but not dolphin.

By resolved as a duplicate, this means, they're not resolving it. It's been over ten years, with people still asking for the feature that used to exist.
