Description bugreport.outscore586 2024-06-07 14:20:31 UTC
SUMMARY
When having a multi-monitor setup and let the screens automatically lock and switch themselves off - as set up in Screen Locking settings - the non-primary display will always freeze or will simply not turn on again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set up automatic Screen Locking in KDE settings
2. Wait for the displays to turn off
3. Wake the system

OBSERVED RESULT
One screen (secondary in this case) freezes or is unable to turn on again.

EXPECTED RESULT
All screens should work the same as before screen locking

KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0
Qt Version: 6.7.1

NVIDIA driver issue, maybe?
Comment 2 bugreport.outscore586 2024-06-15 08:27:02 UTC
Update:

as it turns out, it has something to do with KDEs energy saving screen dim/turn off setting, not the screen lock itself.

Please attach the output of drm_info, once for when the output is working correctly, and once when it doesn't turn on again. The output of
> journalctl --user-unit plasma-kwin_wayland --boot 0
after triggering the problem would also be useful
