Created attachment 170047 [details] Video of the bug in question. SUMMARY Plasma task bar freezes for apparently no reason; tray icons become unresponsive and stop working. In all of my tests, I wasn't able to reproduce the cause for it, so it seems is entirely random. This behaviour doesnt occur in 6.0.4. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 40 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.1 Kernel Version: 6.8.10-300.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with Max-Q Design/PCIe/SSE2 (driver 555.42.2) Manufacturer: HP Product Name: OMEN by HP Laptop 15-ce0xx
I've seen this happen too. It seemed to happen to me whenever a task item, when right clicked, has some items listed in them. Most notably I could repro this by modifying a task in KOrganizer. Do you have "Calendar Events" enabled in your digital clock settings?
Please search for "plasma renderer" in KRunner or Kickoff and open the first search result. In the window that appears, are both comboboxes set to "Automatic?" If not, please set them to "Automatic" and reboot; that will fix the issue.

Done this, will edit this comment if I see the behavior happening again, but so far it seems your advice worked. Thanks.

Thanks. The bug still happens, albeit less commonly. So it may be related to Kwin's renderer and Nvidia's 555 driver.
