SUMMARY
After some time, plasmashell starts crashing. When it starts, it just keeps getting worse, until every mouse click or mouse over triggers a crash. In this case, got a notification at a time I was too busy to read; then clicked notifications icon in systray --> instant crash.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. use the system -- 3 screens, panels on each screen. Only main screen has full panel.
2. mouse over|click any panel
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
crash & auto-restart (though not always -- need to issue plasmashell --replace)

Journal log (see attachment for surrounding messages)

EXPECTED RESULT
no crash

See attachment; crash report included: May 28 13:41:20 kwin_wayland_wrapper[40581]: Data too big for buffer (4108 > 4096) at the time I clicked on the notification icon and instantly crashed.

As always:
# coredumpctl --reverse
No coredumps found.

While wayland is missing features, my last use of X11 was too unstable for normal use.
