It takes images which are saved/copied to clipboard but with no pixel information; so they are empty and do not contain viewable content as expected. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use Wayland (on external monitor) 2. Hit the print screen button 3. Click Rectangular selection and go through the standard process of selection 4. Hit enter OBSERVED RESULT Any image saved as a rectangular selection will fail to contain the pixel information needed. It is of the expected selected size, but otherwise. EXPECTED RESULT The images saved will be usable, with the content selected pre-screenshot, visible. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Wayland session, external monitor, Fedora 40.
Thank you for the bug report, and I'm sorry we weren't able to look into it yet. A lot has changed since it was reported; can I ask you to see if this is still an issue with Plasma 6.5 or later? Thanks a lot!
