STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. opening a tray icon while Firefox window preview is showing up 2. moving the cursor around the panel while a tool-tip is showing up and opening any other tray icon/app icon 3. glancing over app icons while a tray icon tool-tip is still showing up OBSERVED RESULT Any time a tool-tip or a window preview is active, the desktop freezes (Apps still function normally and alt-tabbing is still possible) while this happens, any time the cursor glances over the bottom panel or the desktop the cursor's icon never changes and i can't click on anything, neither desktop shortcuts, nor panel icons. Restarting the PC or killing plasmashell in the system monitor solves the problem. EXPECTED RESULT Normal functionality of the desktop without any kind of freezing. Even if the tool-tips/window previews are showing up. Can you attach a screen recording that shows Unfortunately i can't use screen recorders on Wayland since there is a bug (i haven't reported it yet because i'm not sure where to report it. NVIDIA Forums might be the best bet since it's an NVIDIA specific problem, and it doesn't happen on Intel or AMD graphics, here's the picture of the error I've been getting https://imgur.com/a/VtYkgXM. > it happening? I'll record using my phone instead if it's not an inconvenient for you... https://imgur.com/a/8FHGMsp I concluded that the bug happens when you open the "Status and notifications" tab repeatedly while a tool-tip is being shown, i'll check in a while if the same error happens on Intel Graphics, just to be 100% sure it's reproducible on anything other than just NVIDIA Graphics The bug happens randomly also, it happens each 2 minutes or 3 i reckon, so it's easily reproducible by normal use when switching between tabs or just being idle.
Okay i just checked and the error is not reproducible on Intel Graphics, and it only happens on my PC (I used an HD 520 IGPU on my laptop and a GTX 1060 on my desktop), so if the devs want to reproduce the bug they will need to use NVIDIA Graphics with the Beta drivers 555
