SUMMARY Plasma become unresponsive to any interactions so i have to kill process and relaunch it. But for some reason i can't even relaunch it because "plasmashell" command does not bring back user interface. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. My PC running transfer files from 1 drive to another (Locally) 2. My PC running Vivaldi browser 3. After some time of use plasma shell does not response to any interaction, and does not bring window about closing it. OBSERVED RESULT Plasmashell is frozen and i cannot do anything than killing the process. Seems like after killing process i can't launch it back by typing: ALT+F2 --> plasmashell How exactly plasmashell not work? - Does not respond to any keybinds from keyboard - Does not respond to any mouse interactions EXPECTED RESULT Plasma will not freeze in basic work SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.0.4 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0
Can you get a backtrace of plasma while it's hung? You can do so by opening a terminal window and running: > sudo gdb --pid `pidof plasmashell > bt Then paste the output here. Unfortunately, without that information, there will be no way to debug the issue.
