Description Plata 2024-05-23 16:07:37 UTC
SUMMARY
After reboot, the permissions for remote input are lost. This makes using it impossible if no mouse/keyboard is connected.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Grant remote input permissions.
2. Check that remote input works.
3. Reboot.

OBSERVED RESULT
Permission dialog is shown again.

EXPECTED RESULT
Permission dialog is not shown and remote input just works.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0
Qt Version: 6.7.0

https://invent.kde.org/plasma/xdg-desktop-portal-kde/-/merge_requests/144

"Copying the `/etc/xdg/autostart/org.kde.kdeconnect.daemon.desktop` to `~/.config/autostart` and adding `Hidden=true` to it allows KDE Connect to use the remote input functionality from startup straight away with the notification."
Comment 3 Plata 2024-05-24 12:52:04 UTC
The workaround described above doesn't solve the problem in my case.
Comment 4 Plata 2024-05-24 14:17:30 UTC
The workaround is obsolete with Plasma 6.

The relevant bug is https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480235.
Comment 5 Plata 2024-06-23 16:39:04 UTC
Can probably be closed now with the fix in Plasma 6.1.
