Created attachment 169686 [details] A mockup of an ideal (to me) Album filter tool SUMMARY I am tagging faces in the People tab. I have over 200,000 Unknown faces. Viewing the Unknown list makes Digikam slow, and it is overwhelming from a workflow perspective. I would like to be able to select an Album (including its Sub-Tree) and only see Unknown faces from that Album (including Sub-Tree). Ideally: * Part of the filter pane * Able to check/select multiple albums or sub-album items * Able to toggle "Include Album Sub-Tree" for filter All of my photos are organized into YYYY/MM/DD folders, so I would pick a year or a month from a year and see all photos within that year or month. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Click People tab on left side 2. Click "Unknown" happy face icon in People tab 3. Have more photos than you can deal with in your workflow 4. Click Filter tab on right side 5. Find no way to filter by Album OBSERVED RESULT I don't observe a way to filter the photos in this view by Album. NOTE: I tried using the Text Filter, and even had it apply to the Album Name, but it seems that it only filters against the DD part of my YYYY/MM/DD folder structure. I do think filtering by album would be more user friendly, but even the Text Filter would work for me if it considered the full album path name. EXPECTED RESULT No expectations, just grateful for the great software and hopeful to find a way to improve my current workflow. What is already possible is that you can group/separate the view by albums. Maik
Thanks Maik, Yes, I group/separate the view by albums sometimes and it does help a bit. I'd like to get to where I can Filter by Album and then Group By Face. Then I could see all shots of (eg.) my kid when they were 1. It would make it very easy to quickly say "oh yeah, that's how Kid looked in 2008".
