SUMMARY
After an update, KWin on X11 starts without compositing. Compositing cannot be re-enabled through the settings

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Login to session

OBSERVED RESULT
Compositing deactivated (see backtrace, hope its helpful)

EXPECTED RESULT
Compositing enabled

This was a Fedora-specific issue and should be fixed in the `kwin-x11-6.0.4.1-3.fc40` update: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2280899
