SUMMARY STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. enable check for updates 2. set updates to check daily 3. set use offline updates OBSERVED RESULT the user is notified about software updates, but then do not actually download and install. Instead, the user has to manually install them from the software store. EXPECTED RESULT there should be a notification that software updates are available and are downloading and installing. When the user does come to turn the computer off, software updates are done on next boot. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Fedora KDE Plasma 6 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I asked about this behaviour on fedora forums https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/how-to-automatically-update-when-turning-pc-on-and-off/114049/3

This is likely a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471548
Is this still a problem with latest 6.2?
Yes, it does appear to be so. I had another computer on Kubuntu 24.04 LTS that had around 800 or so updates again, even with automatically check for updates and download and install updates. This is on a computer that is used by elderly people, and thus they do not even know how to check for updates or anything, and is only used for browsing and shopping online.
