This is fixed in Plasma 6.2
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > This is fixed in Plasma 6.2 Bloody hell, unbelievable! This bug was in Plasma since the 5.X versions, and it is finally fixed!
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > This is fixed in Plasma 6.2 Installed Plasma 6.2 (6.1.80git.20240914T013915~5366b8cb-ku.96.1) from the openSUSE KDE unstable repos, problem is still here with even an additional visual glitch. Is it just not merged yet, or am I on a wrong version of Plasma 6.2? Hmm, let's make sure we're talking about the same thing. Can you attach a new screenshot of the thing you see in the 6.2 beta with those wallpapers? Also, what are your Plasma theme and your color scheme set to?

My Plasma theme is Breeze Dark, color scheme is also set to Breeze Dark with accent colors enabled. On the new screenshots you can now also see a partially transparent line that runs along the bottom part of the panel and even goes on a bit on the right "corner" of the panel.

*you need fractional scaling enabled (I use 120%)
Hmm, I wonder if this could be related to graphics drivers. I am unable to reproduce it with a floating panel using a dark color scheme and Plasma theme with any fractional scale factor I try (105% - 145%). I am using an Intel HD630 iGPU though.
It does look like graphics drivers. Also seeing this and using AMD Radeon. Panel must be Floating Opacity cannot be Opaque Visibility > Always visible overrides Floating if another window is close enough. All other settings can cause it. Any theme and wallpaper will do, as long as the panel provides sufficient contrast to the wallpaper or window behind it to make the issue obvious. Only certain combinations of scale and panel height will trigger it. I see it with height 36 at 105%.
Thanks a lot! Any ideas here, KWin folks?
Started Plasma on my NVIDIA GTX 1650 with the same visual bugs, so it may be not AMD specific. (attaching the screenshot with nvidia-smi)

Does disabling the contrast effect (and possibly the blur effect) make the effect disappear?
(In reply to Niccolò Venerandi from comment #13) > Does disabling the contrast effect (and possibly the blur effect) make the > effect disappear? Hey, just watched your video! Disabling the blur effect does makes the effect disappear, the contrast effect doesn't seem to effect this.
