SUMMARY Following the recent changes to default settings like Double-click by default (although I still use a single click) to make it more familiar to people migrating from other systems, I would like to propose a change to how the Drag&Drop functionality works. AFAIK all the DEs/OSes work the same way 1. Moving the file between directories -> Moves the file 2. Moving the file between drives (internal/external/network(maybe, never used it myself)) -> Copies the file 3. Something third that I missed -> Please fill in yourself How the Plasma behaves 1. Moving the file anywhere - Opens the popup menu asking the user to Move/Copy/Create a link/Cancel 2. Moving the file using a specific modifier key -> Does one of the following listed in step 1 We can maybe add a setting to enable/disable this in Dolphin (or somewhere more appropriate for this), but have the proposed behavior set by default.
