SUMMARY I can search for the german translation of desktop effects in the effects module (but not english) but can only search for the english name in the settings search (but not the german translation). Eg. verwischen/blur and wobbly/wabernd STEPS TO REPRODUCE 0. Switch to german 1. Open Settings 2. Search for wabern and observe there is no result 3. Search for wobbly and observe it finds "Arbeitsfläche-Effekte" (Desktop Effects) 4. In Desktop Effects search for wobbly and observe there is no result 5 Search for wabern and observe it finds the corresponding setting OBSERVED RESULT Translated search terms are found inconsistently EXPECTED RESULT Translated search terms are found consistently, preferably for both the translation and the English "original" Operating System: Fedora Linux 40 KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 Kernel Version: 6.8.8-300.fc40.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz Memory: 31.1 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® Xe Graphics Manufacturer: Framework Product Name: Laptop
Thank you for the bug report, and I'm sorry we weren't able to look into it yet. A lot has changed since it was reported; can I ask you to see if this is still an issue with Plasma 6.4 or later? Thanks a lot!
It works a lot better now! I can search for the german translation "wabernd" both in Desktop Effects as well as in Settings. However, I can search for "wobbly" in Settings , but not in Desktop effects. Not sure what the intended behaviour is, I'd assume it should be uniform. I would prefer to be able to search in both languages, but only german would be fine too
