This image shows the SDDM background chooser without a choose file button.

SUMMARY
I cannot change the sddm background.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to the main system settings application.
2. Go to the "Login Screen (SDDM)" section.
3. Click on the change background button for a SDDM theme.

OBSERVED RESULT
First the window becomes somewhat unresponsive then after several mouse clicks of key presses within the window, the background picture popup appears, but it lacks the choose file button.

EXPECTED RESULT
The background picture popup should appear immediately with a choose file button at the bottom.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Nate Graham 2024-05-05 20:25:45 UTC
Just to rule out the effect of any visual or functional customizations you've made, does the issue reproduce in a new clean user account?
Comment 2 Unknown 2024-05-06 00:39:58 UTC
No the problem persists in a new user with default settings, and themes.
Comment 3 Nate Graham 2024-05-06 21:02:42 UTC
Ok. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I can't reproduce it myself in Plasma 6.0, and at this point 5.27 is out of support from KDE itself. So it's a "ask Kubuntu to investigate and fix it" situation. Ideally they have people capable of doing this, thereby giving that "LTS" branding meaning.
