Description VP 2024-05-02 12:28:33 UTC
SUMMARY

I noticed the problem when using an old ncurses-based program. Pressing Alt-P does not generate a keystroke the program will read as its input, but it activates the Paste function. Hiding the "Paste" from the session toolbar helps as a workaround, but I don't like losing a clickable "Paste" button. Same situation with Alt-F and "Find" and possibly all other toolbar items.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press Alt-P

OBSERVED RESULT

The clipboard contents is copied.

EXPECTED RESULT

The running program reads the alt-P sequence and reacts to it.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 40
KDE Plasma Version: Plasma 6.0.4
KDE Frameworks Version: ??
Qt Version: 6.7.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

There is no related setting in the "configure keyboard shortcuts" window.
